The Xcaper Smoke Mask is intended to be used for escape from smoke filled areas. The filter works effectively for up to 45 minutes or longer, depending on conditions. This is a direct contact filter, which allows user to breath and communicate with ease. The filter can be put on right side up, upside down, or even inside out. This product is even effective if held up to the nose and mouth.
Here's how it works:
It uses patented technology that combines a natural based aloe gel extract and negatively charged styrene beads. It attracts particulate matter in the air, during a fire, which has a positive charge, then neutralizes all water-soluble gases and 100% of dust and particulate matter down to 0.300 microns..

The combination of moisturizing agent and charged styrene beads prevent the "Channeling Effect" that makes "dry" filter systems less effective in demanding environments. This filter is intended for single use and will last for approximately 8 to 12 hours of continuous use in a typical Wildland fire situation.
The Xcaper Smoke Mask is individually packaged in a
vacuumed sealed foil pouch.
